Tarentaalrand Safari offers you a wide choice of hunting packages, including Trophy hunting, Bow hunting, Biltong hunting, Cull hunting, Informal (Social Bird Hunting) as well as Green Hunting. The latter is when a hunter shoot, for example, a rhino with a tranquillizer arrow, and while the animal is lying tranquillized, a photo is taken of him with the animal. Afterwards the rhino will recover fully and you will have a picture of yourself with the animal. In this way no animal is killed, but the experience of hunting can be felt. This type of hunt is also much cheaper than normal hunting as you don't have to pay for the animal you shot.

Trophy Hunting

Under the professional guidance of your Professional Hunters, Theuns and/or Erika Cloete, you can bag as many as fourteen species of African plains game at Tarentaalrand Safari A rare African experience Lodge, and other species will be available at the hunter’s request to add to your collection at home. Ever wanted to add a Lion trophy to your collection? We can give you this unique opportunity! Let us know and we will show you a range of lions to choose from. Add this animal King to your wall and be one of a few to have experienced this special encounter with the king of the animals.

During your hunt we shall expertly field dress your trophy to perfection in our exclusive facilities. After this they will be sent to a South African taxidermist of your choice for dipping and shipping and/or stuffing.

Our hunting season lasts all year round although it peaks in the winter months - March to September. You can expect shooting distances varying from only 30 meters to up to 250 meters.

You will arrive at Johannesburg International Airport where we will meet you, or you can take a domestic flight from Johannesburg to Bloemfontein or Kimberley.

Black WildebeestKimberley airport is only a 15 minutes drive from Tarentaalrand.

If we meet you at Johannesburg International Airport, you can enjoy the five-hour scenic drive to Kimberley.

Terms and Conditions

50% of the total hunting safari cost is payable as deposit to confirm and secure a hunt booking, with the balance payable upon the day of safari commencement. Species fees are payable at the end of the safari and include wounded / lost animals as determined by the professional hunter.

Normally a standard safari's duration is a minimum stay of  7 days and maximum of 21 days. Should you require any other special schedule, we would need to discuss this option first.

When a safari is cancelled the deposit is not refundable unless termination of the booking is received three months prior to the stated departure date, in which case the deposit less a 10% handling fee will be refunded (thus refunding of 90% takes place). Always ensure you get trip cancellation insurance as unforeseen circumstances including missing scheduled airline flights can occur!

Although we take all necessary precautions, we accept no liability for any unforeseen accidents or happenings, due to the fact that hunting and safari travel can be dangerous.
